This book is about a little boy who sleeps ina crib and he thinks it is time to get a new bed. He tells his mom "I think I need a new bed" she always replys "You do?" So she goes through the list and asks the little boy if he wants to sleep in an eagles nest, a rabbit hole, squishy ooze, a monkeys lap, a pod, on the ice with a polar bear , or in the sand with a camel. Every suggestion his mom makes he always finds something wrong. Its either too high, too hott, too cold..and on and on. At the end of the book his mom has a big soft mattress, a bright red spread, and fluffy pillows. She calls his bed a big boys place to spend the night.
This book is about a little boy named Fred who tells his mom he needs a new bed. Throughout the book his mom ask him if he would like to sleep in different areas that different animals may sleep in. Each time Fred saids he needs a different kind of bed. This is a simple book that shows a boy growing from a baby bed to an older big boy bed. In the end the little boy gets the perfect big boy bed he wants. This is a good book for preschoolers. I do not think I would use this in my classroom unless the children were very young.
In this book, Fred keeps asking for a bed. His mother suggests of places for him to sleep at night. She suggests an eagles nest, rabbits hole etc. She goes on and soon she realizes that he wants a big boy bed. At the end, Fred gets big boy bed and is relieved because he thinks it is just right. This is a great story for young children growing into big boy, big girl things. It is great for preschoolers because they are learning to do "big", new things.
