Book description
Kate Danville is the most irritating, meddlesome woman Marshal Lucas Brannigan has ever met. Still, he can't understand why the low-down varmint she'd run off with dumped her right here in Deadrange, of all places ... except that she can drive a man crazy faster than a pot full of loco weed.

Beautiful, rich, and just a bit spoiled, Miss Kate Danville of Boston is furious that she fell for a no-good fortune hunter ... and madder than a wet hen that she's stranded in this broken-down, one-horse town without a penny for the fare back home.

Well, Kate figures, she's learned her lesson. Now it's time to teach backward Deadrange and one high-handed, irresistible lawman a thing or two. All it will take is a few unconventional notions, a little courage, and the passionate heart that's just waiting for the love of the right man.
