i fear thanks to jessa hastings i now need therapy after this book, becaause WHAT DO YOU MEAN that was the ending?? i have always preferred the magnolia / bj books before, and i think i still do, but seeing the same events that were in ‘the long way home’ unfold in this, from a different perspective?? CRAZY. as always, jessa writes the most stunning quotes i have ever read, and have no idea how someone’s brain can come up with that. i also have a new found appreciation for julian and daisy (still not 100% sure about christian but that’s okay), i really felt like this book had some serious character development for both of them so i love them even more now. i need the next book like yesterday but i’m scared to keep reading now. show more 🥲 show less

I swear to god! I did try to pace myself. I promise you, I did. But yet, I just read it faster than last book.
I can't even with these books. They're too effin good! I love how now the book is in Christian, Julians, and Daisy's perspective because it can really show more insight into why some of the characters did what they did in [book:Magnolia Parks: The Long Way Home|61447046].
For example, now, I get why Julian was trying to hook up with other girls... Because he was painstankingly in love with Magnolia. That's actually the funny thing! When I was reading [book:Magnolia Parks: The Long Way show more Home|61447046] I wanted to murder Julian for being such an ass to Magnolia, but now it makes a hell of a lot more sense to me.
To be honest, I'm sad I've finished this book already, because I don't want the series to end! This series is literally too good and I'm almost 100% certain that this series is going to put me into a book slump.
I don't even have to write about Jessa's writing, because it's just that outstanding!
A realization I've had throughout this book and just reading basically the whole series is that Gracie Abrams, That's So True, bridge is perfect for this book. (Incase you don't know it: Made it out alive, but I think I lost it Said that I was fine, said it from the coffin Remember how I died when you started walking? That's my life, that's my life I'll put up a fight, taking out my earrings Don't you know the vibe? Don't you know the feeling? You should spend the night, catch me on your ceiling That's your prize, that's your prize.)
Anywho, amazing book, amazing writing, and amazing characters. They feel like my besties!
“Let me be clear now then, Daisy—” Gives me a tall look. “I am fucked up in love with you.” show less

I received a copy of this book for free from the publisher (Dutton) for promotional purposes.
This was another insane installment in the Magnolia Parks Universe.
Each and every book in this series just takes you on an emotional roller coaster and I absolutely love it.
This book takes place during the same span of time as Magnolia Parks: The Long Way Home, so some plot points are already known. This book really delves deep into Julian’s side of things and all of his complicated feelings towards Magnolia. There was a lot more of Julian in this book than there was in the previous Daisy Haites book. I love Julian so I enjoyed that.
As for Daisy and Christian, I loved their relationship and they make a great couple. I also really liked show more seeing Daisy gradually warm up to Magnolia. Daisy is so guarded (both emotionally and physically) so it was nice to see her start to have a female friend.
The last 100 or so pages were crazy. There was so much going on. Jessa Hastings just loves to amp up the action and drama towards the end, which really makes the book a worthwhile read.
Overall, this was another fantastic addition to the series. I cannot wait to start the next book and see where all this goes. show less
