OUT OF THE DAWN is the second book in P.C. Cast’s Into the Mist series. I read the first book, INTO THE MIST, prior to this and would suggest doing so as there is background information that helps things make more sense. My feelings about OUT OF THE DAWN are pretty much the same as the first book. In general, I like post-apocalyptic novels so the premise of the book sounded like something I’d find interesting. Unfortunately, this book was not a good fit for me. The fantasy element was kicked up a notch and at times just felt weird and out of place in terms of the vibe the show more series began with.
OUT OF THE DAWN didn’t work for me, but I can see how it may appeal to others. If the premise sounds interesting, I’d suggest giving it a try.
