This was a very fast paced Murder mystery. Lexi returns to her home town after having been in prison for ten years for murdering her best friend. She just wants to get on with life and forget what has happened, but her PI neighbour is determined not to let her and keeps questioning her about it. Alongside this there are some mysterious things happening.

Events in the book move along very quickly and before you know you care very much about what happened with Lexi, and question the events from the past that are far from clear cut. Despite the pace of the book you do get some good characterisation of the lead characters and the book keeps you guessing about what happened.

There are some good twists in the book and overall I enjoyed the show more book, and the ending, and read it quite quickly, without many breaks. I do feel the book could have benefited with being slightly longer to build on the characterisation of the characters more, the growing relationship for Lexi and to flesh out the ending a little more.

Overall though I did enjoy the book and look forward to reading more by this author. If you enjoy fast paced crime thrillers then I think you would enjoy this quick read.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
