Description
"In her first hours as lord of the dungeon, Marcille has completely transformed the dungeon's layout, sending hordes of monsters from the deepest floors--as well as several of her own making--hurtling dangerously close to the surface. Though the demon's influence is strong, Laios has a surefire way to reach Marcille: through her stomach! Drawn from fondly remembered flavors, will Senshi's ultimate culinary creation be enough to break through to their friend?!"--Amazon.Tags

In this installment, the various parties and factions within the dungeon struggle to survive in the rapidly changing environment. The canaries try to convince everyone to leave but the orcs side with Laios and the humans resent being bossed around by elves.
As the ground literally shifts underfoot, Laios and crew struggle to reach Marcille and then to convince her to reconsider her plans. But the influence of the demon and the dungeon's magic has begun to warp her personality. She is obsessed with growing the dungeon to be big enough to hold everyone so she can extend everyone's lifespan.
We learn more about Marcille's backstory and her motivations to end the difference between the races. We also learn more about the demon who is seeking show more to fulfill the desires of humans but struggling with the fact that a desire once fulfilled disappears. He is still hoping to convince Laios to also be a dungeon lord.
The volume comes to a close as Laios and his party reach Marcille in her tower and eventually convince her to let them close.
All forces are converging upon Marcille but for the moment, the power of the demon has been too extensive to allow her defeat. Meanwhile, above ground word of the dungeon's transformation is spreading. The elves and other long-lived races are moving to prevent a larger scale disaster. show less

The dungeon has a new master, and the many different factions of the dungeon are facing off against each other as the race is on to protect, redeem, contain, or destroy her. It's so action-packed they barely have time to cook a single meal . . .
I'm not sure if this is heading toward a finale, but the next volume should bring a major turning point at the very least.
