Intense. ?áNot for little children. ?áSleeping Beauty" retold, set in Berlin, during pre-WWII through the end of the Cold War.?á
Gorgeous, but in a dark, shadowed way. ?áUnfortunately all the pages are dark and shadowy - as if the artist advises that we never allow ourselves to feel undiluted joy, that we always remember the horrifying acts humanity is capable of committing. ?áI think it would have been more effective if there had been a bit of a contrast - if there's no hope for bright colors & clarity of vision, why bother?"
