This is a really cute story that a lot of kids could relate to because of moving to a new place. I love how the illustrations in the book almost look real. The setting is believable because it takes place in a real house. The characters are also believable because it is a real family moving, it is told from the point of view of the cat. This story is also uplifting because it shows that moving to a new place can be scary, but that it will all be okay and in the end you will be happy.
The main character of this book, the cat, was very realistic, even though he seemed like a person instead of an animal. The events of this book can actually happen in real life and the students who read this book can relate to them, and the character, as they come from the cat's point of view. The theme represents a memorable theme and uplifting value as the cat must cope with the loss of his familiar surrounds and the new, scary environment of his new house.

Michael Rosen started writing as a teenager, when his mother needed some poems for Radio programs she was making. While at college, he wrote a play which was staged at the Royal Court theatre in London. Rosen's first book was published in 1974, and he is one of Britain's leading children's poets. Michael Rosen launched the National Year of show more Literacy project, which encouraged children to help produce an Anthology to be used during the Literacy Hour in primary schools. Children ages 4-11 were invited to submit poems and illustrations featuring their favorite tree. Rosen also led the final judging sessions to decide which submissions would be included.
