Fiction. Mystery. Suspense. Thriller. HTML:Lucas Davenport and Virgil Flowers team up to crack an unsolvable case in this thrilling new novel by #1 New York Times bestselling author John Sandford.
Alex Sand was spending the evening at home playing basketball with his two young sons when all three were shot in cold blood. A wealthy federal judge, thereā??s no short list of people who could have a vendetta against Sands, but the gruesome murders, especially that of his children, turn their St. Paul community on its head. Sand was on the verge of a major donation to a local housing charity, Heart/Twin Cities, and with the money in limbo, eyes suddenly turn to his grieving widow, Margaret Cooper, to see what she might do with the money. Margaret, distraught over the death of her family, struggles to move forward, and canā??t imagine how or why anyone would target her husband.
With public pressure mounting and both the local police force and FBI hitting dead end after dead end, Lucas Davenport and Virgil Flowers are called in to do what others could not: find answers. With each potential lead flawed, Davenport and Flowers are determined to chase every theory until they figure out who killed the Sands. I always like a Lucas Davenport novel, and in Judgment Prey, he is partnered again with Virgil Flowers. I loved the wisecracking back and forth between them as they try to solve a case of a murdered judge and his sons. The judge's wife is a suspect, but there is no evidence to support this. However, she decides to take justice into her own hands and decides to go after whomever killed her family.
This is another solid entry in the Prey series. ( )

Judgment Prey is a thrilling book. There are several murders that are all intertwined with each other. The ending leaves one wondering about what just happened and why certain events occurred. Perhaps a reason to want another story to pull everything together better. Who knows what the author's intent was. Four stars were given to this story. ( )

A federal judge and his two sons are gunned down in their home. With the investigation at a stand still. Lucas Davenport( US Marshal's ) and Virgin Flowers( Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension) are brought in to assist in solving the murders. Davenport and Flowers must try to solve the crime before the widow gets her revenge. An outstanding police procedural. ( )
