Description

In celebration of North Carolina's 400th birthday, Charles Kuralt collaborated with another of the state's famous sons, Loonis McGlohon, to produce this down-home, witty celebration of their native land. From Possomtrot to Frying Pan Shoals, Ava Gardner to Thomas Wolfe, this cultural tour of Tar Heel country is Kuralt at his best -- an uncanny eye for detail and an exquisite command of the language. In memory of Charles Kuralt, this new paperback edition of North Carolina is My Home features show more testimonials and remembrances from some of his closest friends, including Norman Corwin, Jan Karon, and Bill Friday. show less

Not heavy enough to be a typical "coffee table book", yet this volume is loaded with trivia and reminisces of what it is like to be from North Carolina. The numerous photos are beautiful, too.
