Description

Forbes may have labeled Ford Grant the World's Hottest Billionaire, but all he cares about is escaping the press and opening a recording studio in gorgeous small town Rose Hill. Something that comes to a screeching halt when he ends up face-to-face with a young girl who claims he's her biological father. Now, he spends his days balancing business with parenting a sullen twelve-year-old, all while trying desperately to keep his hands the hell off his best friend's sister, Rosie Belmont. After show more living in the city, Rosie came blasting back into town like a storm. Beautiful, messy, and chaotic. And one wide-eyed, desperate plea for a job is all it takes for Ford to hire her. He vows to keep her at arm's length. Tries to stick to scowls and grumpy one-liners. But with her, verbal sparring is a type of foreplay--friction that soon turns to blistering heat. Ford knows damn well he shouldn't cross this line. But shouldn't and can't are two very different things. And the only thing he truly can't do is resist her. show less

TW/CW: Sexual harassment/firing by a man in a position of power, off page depression inpatient treatment

Setting: Canada

There’s usually a thing I hate in best friend’s sister romances and it’s when the brother is mad they got together with his sister even though that’s the person they run around with themselves. Not here, baby. Every single time there was an opportunity for it to happen, Wes was pumping up his buddy. “If I could build you a boyfriend like a Build-A-Bear, he would come out as Ford Grant.” I mean seriously. She rolls up to her parent’s house and her father says flat out that he expected them to get together so maybe the wingmanning just runs in the family.

I’m not going to get into spoiler land but as a show more petty b in a different tax bracket, this petty billionaire made my day. What is the point in having all that money if you don’t cause mischief with it. And what he did was delightful.

Thank you to Must Love Audio for a copy of the audiobook in exchange for an honest review. Both narrators were wonderful in this and it was a dream to listen to.

This story had its ups and downs for me. I loved the banter between Ford and Rosie/Rosalie. It was funny and sharp, using their email to communicate vs. talking to each other when they were just feet apart. However, when they finally get together, although they have loved each other for years, without realizing it, I felt that Ford was a bit demeaning to her when they were having sex.
I did love the way he treated Cora, the young girl he found was his biological daughter due to a donation of sperm when he was in college to get money for a concert!
I will read more of the series, but I was disappointed. It was a quick read for me.
Ok so this was pretty cute. I enjoyed the storyline for the most part but I feel maybe a little more about Chloe story would have been great to read about as well, maybe a small novella about her and her family would be cute. I thought the banter between Ford and Rosie were just great especially the email exchanges they had me down right laughing, anyone that knows me knows I love me a good banter.
The spice was spicing however sometimes a bit much in the sense that it took away from the plot but that is my opinion.

I don't feel it was so much an enemies to lover type trope because even as kids they seemed friendly, it was more like that kid you grow up with that you joke often enough with into you like them. so friends to lovers makes show more more sense.
overall the book was fun, not an out of this world as it was recommended to me but definitely recommendable and enjoyable, I look forward to reading the rest of the series.

When Rosie Belmont's boss gropes and then fires her, and her boyfriend doesn't seem to care, she decides it's time to go home to Rose Hill to see her brother, West. After she arrives, she is overcome by the kindness of her brother's best friend, Ford Grant. She and Ford always had a contentious relationship that they more than likely used to hide their feelings for one another. Ford gives her a job, and she finds a place with him and his newly discovered biological daughter, Cora, but unresolved issues may keep their new idealic life from becoming a reality.

Wild Love is a good beginning to the Rose Hill series based on the town where they all live. While the story is a very enjoyable read and the characters likable, everything is just show more too perfect including Ford Grant. The whole plot is just too unrealistic to be believable. Lots of humor and witty banter as well as Rosie's diary entries all add to the entertainment value of this novel, but the stakes for the characters and the level of angst just fall a little short. Overall, Wild Love makes for a pleasant and light reading experience. show less
Ford, a billionaire with a heart of gold, is navigating the life-altering journey of fatherhood, and in the midst of it all, he discovers an unexpected yet profound connection with Rosie, his best friend's little sister. As they embark on a beautiful love story, Ford and Rosie's dynamic is intense, captivating, and a true testament to the human spirit's capacity for growth, transformation, and love. Their witty banter is a joy to behold, and their slow-burn romance is a masterful portrayal of the power of true love to uplift and transform us. Ford's gruff exterior hides a deep sense of vulnerability, and Rosie's spirited personality brings out the best in him, reminding us that love can bridge even the widest of emotional gaps. As their show more story unfolds, the characters come alive, feeling real and relatable, with their flaws and struggles serving as a powerful reminder that we are all in this together. The storyline is engaging, full of surprises, and inspired by the resilience of the human heart. The added element of Ford's sudden fatherhood brings depth and heart to the story, reminding us that family can take many forms and that love can bloom in the most unexpected ways. If you're looking for a romance that will leave you feeling uplifted, inspired, and reminded of the transformative power of love, Wild Love is the perfect read. The small-town setting adds a touch of charm, and the supporting characters enrich the story's texture, highlighting the ways in which love can bring people together. Ford and Rosie's love story is a must-read for anyone who believes in the potential for positive change and the human spirit's capacity for growth, transformation, and love. show less
This was highly recommended in Booktok, so of course I had to get it, read it and see for myself if it’s as good as everyone says it is. I give it 3 stars not because I didn’t enjoy it but I didn’t find anything significant from it that would make it stand out from other rom-com books. I kept waiting to be entranced but everything about the story is something I’ve read before in other books. Also there were no surprises or bombshells to keep you guessing on what’s going to happen. The entire plot felt predictable from the beginning. I did love the banter though that made all the characters witty and enjoyable. I still recommend this book but I think it would be more suited for a person who is new to rom-coms.
I always end up really liking Elsie Silver's characters and this was no exception. I look forward to the second book in the series, as I also like how she builds the world from book to book.

The book is its characters specially, the protagonist Rosie. Her confusion, discovery of herself and her first blush of love felt so real and relatable. The theme was etched beautifully with friends who brought depth and humor to the story. And the town, my heart captured it so completely then. The romance, too, was spot on. An absolute sweet and sassy romance filled in the right doses with show more sweet moments and some deep heartening conversations. And the author surely knows how to make words play magic and build tension........... show less
