It's a fun entertaining read, very easy one if you know the Riftwar books and characters.
Whilst it does cover alot of old REF situations and tropes I still enjoyed it.
Only minor grumble was the amount of times when the older characters said 'it's a long story, we'll explain another time....' or a variation of, happens ALOT. Surely a simple paragraph of 'and we sat and talked the whole night.... etc' would have stopped alot of that.

This really should be called 'Everything Returns', as Feist brings back some familiar characters, some familiar threats and the action is split between Garn and Midkemia. I love all the characters, but the familiar plot is getting old. Luckily it appears the next book will be a bit of a new direction.
Been waiting for this to come out for a couple years now. Listened to the entire 31 book series over the past year back and forth to work.
This was fun. Enjoyed revisiting some old characters, and meeting a couple of new ones, not too many. I think this was largely setting up the next two books, but certainly enjoyable.
