This is a fairly light read. I finished it in a couple of nights. I must admit that I like listening to his radio show. I try and catch it at least a couple of times a week. The book itself won't tell you anything you don't already know if you are of the conservative persuasion. Perhaps you will learn a few stories that didn't make the news, but overall, he's putting forth an indictment of the liberal persuasion in American politics and society that is repeated on his radio show day after day. If you don't listen to his show, you might not pick up some of the verbage he uses. There is a glossary in the back to help the unfamiliar. However, you have to have listened to him on the air to truly appreciate his writing style.

I don't always show more agree with him, but I don't think he's wrong on any of the issues he writes about in this book. I tend to stay away from these types of books as they don't really do anything for me. I am already set in my ways and this book neither solidified or eroded any beliefs I had before reading it. If you want to know a little more about Michael Savage, this book might help you out. If you hate him, this book won't do anything but increase your hatred of him. If you, like me, think he has some valid points, then this book is a repeat of what you hear on his radio show. show less
Michael Savage has crafted a literary spike to the truth in his book, β€œLiberalism is a Mental Disorder, Nelson Current, Nashville, c2005.” Only just recently have researchers at Harvard and the University of California, SD, detected that the β€œ7R variant of DRD4, a dopamine receptor gene” leads to a liberal disposition.

At last science has supported the clear observations by most conservatives, Michael Savage in particular, that liberals in general are suffering a β€œmental disorder.” The field evidence in support of this laboratory discovery is clearly laid out in this book.

In the Introduction, the thesis is sharply focused: liberal programs, while well intentioned often have results bordering on insanity. Savage writes show more dynamically with many examples. Just because the liberal movement is lead by fools and scoundrels is no reason to believe America is.

The Savage Truth, as he puts it, is that liberal actions can only be understood through psychoanalysis. Thus he anticipates by 5 years the discovery of the liberal gene. Through out the book Savage also provides Savage Solutions to the problems created by liberals. Thus he counterpoints the irrationality of liberalism with sound rational thought. The book becomes a primer for training in the logic of rational thought as opposed to liberal thought (sic).

Moving on, Savage states, β€œIn a time of war, liberalism is either treason or a mental disorder.” This is well documented and supports the readers own recollections of the anti-american statements made by many liberal politicians in Congress and the White House.

The media in particular is excoriated. β€œRadical Islam isn’t a religion as much as it is a political movement.” As such it warrants as much respect as Nazi Fascism and Communism instead of the respect we in America afford to religion. This alone demonstrates the insanity of the liberal intellectuals. One can only open a gene repair therapy will be discovered to cure liberals of their defective gene.

What the media has neglected to understand is that the word β€œIslam” means β€œsubmission.” The world of Islam is all about total control of lives, both political and domestic. As such there are no β€œfreedoms” in Islam only the will of Allah. The only religious counter part in the Western World are β€œcults”. It is demonstrably insane to treat a cult with the respect and privileges of a full fledged religion.

Indeed, Savage goes on to demonstrate the criminal activities of the ACLU. As a Solution he suggests prosecution of the RICO statutes. (These are laws particularly written to prosecute criminals who β€œimproperly manipulate the law” to unlawful ends.

β€œLiberalism is a Mental Disorder” documents the view in 2005 that the liberals had gone over the deep edge. Savage supports this distressing conclusion with β€œSolutions” for the rest of us. This is all very prescient of him, as now in 2010, it has been discovered that liberalism can be traced to a defective gene
Well done, it’s a good read!
