The Complete Pat of Silver Bush Series

This is different than Anne of Green Gables and Emily of New Moon, and I have to say, Pat was less likeable. Anne and Emily both had their quirks and pride. they made mistakes, but remained likeable, and growing and maturing into lovely young ladies.

Pat on the other hand.... well, she does grow up, and her character develops, but her attachment to her family home borders on weird. When a visitor makes a casual comment about the house, Pat misconstrues it as an insult to the house and freezes the woman out and is at a minimum, coldly civil to her despite the woman's attempts to make friends. Heck, Pat doesn't even want to leave the house to get married. She only agrees to marry after her idiot of a sister-in-law burns down the house by show more accident. If you're a L.M. Montgomery completist and want to check out this series, by all means do, it's not all bad. But Patsy is far less likeable than Anne, Emily, Jane, or Valancy. show less
