Description

When Del Perkins finds three crippled Comanche children and a bag of gold on his doorstep, he has no way of knowing the youngsters will temper the hatred and vengeance that has ripped him apart because of the death of his wife and son at the hands of a marauding Comanche war party. His raging anger makes him unwilling to keep the children or the gold. Del even ignores the advice of his pretty neighbor, Margaret Sims, who recognizes his growing affection for the children. He takes them to show more the Indian School at Fort Sill, three hundred miles distant. Chased by men seeking the gold, the long, dangerous journey molds the small party into a family, revealing to both Del and the children that the color of skin means nothing. All that counts is that which is contained within the heart. show less
