Kennedy: I'm the only woman on staff for the Windy City Warriors, and after years of putting up with a sexist lead doctor, I'm desperate to land my dream job with a new team next year. All I have to do is maintain my professional reputation for my final season in Chicago. But a Las Vegas run-in with the team's shortstop threatens it all, leaving me with a fuzzy memory and a ring on my left hand. Now, not only am I legally bound to the most persistent man I've ever met, but thanks to Isaiah's show more scheme to save my job, I have to pretend the whole thing was a planned elopement and not a drunken mistake. Isaiah Rhodes is reckless, impulsive, and frustratingly charming. He's also my brand-new husband. They got the saying wrong. What happens in Vegas doesn't always stay in Vegas…sometimes it follows you right back home. Isaiah: As the shortstop for Chicago's professional baseball team, I've had my fair share of fun. But that all ended the day Kennedy Kay became a single woman. I've crushed on the team's athletic trainer for years. I've flirted to no avail, so imagine my surprise when I woke up in Sin City with a ring on my finger and my favorite redhead in my bed. We agree to stay married for one baseball season, just long enough to keep her job safe, but in my mind, I'm using our time together to prove to her I'm husband material. Kennedy might be reluctant to join in on our game, but it's one I refuse to lose. So come on, wife…play along. show lessTags

O.B.S.E.S.S.E.D ;) This had me looking silly at the gym, laughing while lifting weights (who does that? It's me, Im the problem). Do you need to read the other 3 before this one? Technically, no, but I recommend it. I didn't think I'd like this as much. The characters had more recently had their cameos, but they were just side characters, enjoyable but not the spotlight. But man, I enjoyed their spotlight, especially Isaiah and his humor and support. Chicago sports with a Romcom. Liz you sold me and made me your fan

Dr. Kennedy Kay thinks she has finally landed her dream position as a doctor for a professional sports team, but when she arrives for her first day with the Windy City Warriors baseball team, the current head of the Heath and Wellness Department denies her the opportunity because she is a woman. Taking the position as a trainer is a step down from her qualifications, but it's better than nothing. Star player Isaiah Rhodes has driven Kennedy crazy with his flirtation for three years that she has worked for the Warriors, but now that her engagement has been called off, he is even more of a nuisance than ever, especially when they get drunk and accidentally get married in Las Vegas.
Play Along is the fourth book in the Windy City series, show more and even though it is a good, well-written story, it just didn't carry the same impact as the first three. Kennedy's need not to be touched seems out of place in a story about an athletic trainer, and it also becomes a repetitive distraction as the story moves forward. While the reasons behind Kennedy's feelings are addressed, they are never confronted, leaving that plot thread incomplete as are some of the others in the novel. Overall, Play Along is an entertaining read but misses several opportunities for it to be more. show less

Čtvrtý díl série Windy City sleduje vztah mezi sportovní hvězdou a ženou, která si chrání své srdce. Kniha nabízí kombinaci romantického napětí, humoru a silné chemie mezi hlavními postavami. Play Along je příběhem o důvěře, hranicích a nečekané lásce.
Book 4 in the Windy City series.
I Loved Kennedy and Isaiah! Just the way he was truly obsessed with Ken and how amazing he treated her made my heart melt. Isaiah was struggling with the way his mom died and him calling all his friends during storms was so caring and sweet of him.

Only rating it 4 stars instead of 5 stars bc he calls her Kenny & that’s my FIL’s name so that was weird to read. Almost DNF’d just because of that, but had to push through bc I love these characters so much. Kennedy, Kennedy, Kennedy!!!
Can’t wait for the last book in the series!!

OMG!!!
Once again, I'm wowed by Liz Tomforde. Damn, she really raises my standards high. This book is my second favorite—the first being The Right Move—and I can say that Isaiah has become my second favorite in this series, the first obviously being Ryan

Very much inline with the rest of the series.
