After the events of the previous book, Theo resurrects Niamh at the urging of Lucifer-Milo, and she is reunited with her twin, Ciara. This is somehow part of Lucifer’s plan to wake Leviathan and join the two of them with Belial to re-form Satanis, the Demon King, split by the witches generations ago. Ciara and Luke each try to regain Niamh ’s trust after their respective betrayals. Elle wallows in her feelings after losing both her cheating husband and the son it turns out she never actually had . Leonie and Chinara get an extremely unexpected surprise and return to Aeaea, the secret Mediterranean witch haven. Holly comes into her full power. Theo is offered a choice: help restore Satanis and he will spare everyone else.
A fantastic show more ending to the trilogy. All of the pieces fit into place, and nothing felt rushed or overly-long. There’s not a lot to say that I haven’t already said about the previous two books, but I’ve really enjoyed spending time in this series with these actual adult women with adult problems. I’m so happy with all of their endings, even the ones that are sad. The tone of the series is perfectly funny and dark throughout. I’m really hoping Juno Dawson will write a couple more prequels in the same universe because I’m not sure I’m ready to say goodbye. show less
