Maestro eludes Alex Cross. However, he is getting closer to finding out who Maestro is. After a series of high profile murders, including those in the judiciary, and with an upcoming presidential inauguration, Cross, Sampson, Bree and Ned are on the trail of the killers. Their lives are in serious danger, and they have to make some difficult choices.
I wasn't as engaged in this Cross novel as I have been in others. Perhaps it is because it brought up all the issues we are facing with this new admin - environmental protections, the federal bench -- and it hits too close.
From the beginning when a van goes off an s curve of the Independence Mountains of Nevada, the murder of supreme court justice on the streets of DC, and to the shootout in the Canadian wilds between Alex, Bree, Sampson and a team of men employed by M, the actions keeps the pages turning in what may be James Patterson's best Alex Cross book yet. Alex, his wife Bree and best friend John Sampson are after Cross's old nemesis know only by the initial M as they race the clock to prevent the murder of additional supreme court justices or nominees.
