Glamour

Recipe: Take three young, beautiful women from three different countries ( in this case - America, England and Jordan), mix together at a private girls school to form a seemingly unbreakable bond. Introduce hardships and heartbreaks separately, have the girls lose track of each other only to bring them back together. The three (now acting as one) start a business that makes them all rich beyond their wildest dreams. Introduce jealousy and power struggles to break the group apart. Arrange a final meeting that melds them together again by looking back over their years of friendship and loyalty. Ice the story with handsome men, gorgeous fashions and delicious gossip and innuendo. Final result, the book called Glamour by Louise show more Bagshawe.

This was the pen-ultimate Chick-Lit read, and I gobbled it up leaving me satisfied for now, but knowing I will be hungry for this type of empty calories again soon. show less

Glamour is a story of ambition, greed, riches and rich people. It follows 3 young women through turbulent times in their life, and their struggle to come through the adversity despite what life is throwing at them. A few chapters at a time is dedicated to each girl, and how they come through their struggles in life. However, Bagshawe moves through the girls' lives - the next ten years or so relatively quickly and somehow these girls managed to achieve so much in such a short time. Though I love her stories I find this one rather unrealistic. Not my favourite work of Louise Bagshawe.

An interesting story of friendship and partnership told from the point of view of all three of the main characters. All very different but yet still somehow the best of friends. I found that I got caught up in one's story and then it would switch to one of the other's. It kept me turning the pages to see how everyone's story played out. Is a good, quick read.

Good book about friendship with three different personalities, life styles, rags to riches. Rivalry, friendship.

It's hard to believe that these three women, Jane, Haya (Helen) and Sally were only 20 when they started their business. Smart, mature women, that's for sure.

I loved the epilogue of course.

The cover was pretty too though I'm not one to judge a book by it's cover.

Glamour is a fun, slightly unrealistic read that tells the complicated story of three childhood friends.

Ismét megtalálják egymást, egy nagy áruházat alkotnak, az amerikai szépség, Sally lesz a kivitelezés, a dizájn és a reklámoldala, az ázsiai Haya hozza a keleti különleges dolgokat, s ő a lelke, kitalájója, az angol Jane intézi a pénzügyeket, keresi a befektetőket. Még jobban meggazdagodnak, s már mind a sajátjának akarja az üzletet, nem is a pénz miatt, hanem mind úgy gondolja, őhozzá tartozik.
Lehet h túlzásnak tűnik a story, de az biztos, h ha vki vmit show more nagyon akar, azt eléri.
Aki elolvassa ezt a könyvet, biztos fog tetszerni, s talán az akaratereje megnövekszik. Pozitív hatású könyv, érdemes ajándékozni is. show less

Three girls go to Milton Academy and become friends.Unfortunately, each experiences an event in her life that forces her to leave Milton. Each is trying to compensate for the event during the life. The women create a business, Glamour. Glamour was a fun read and enjoyed the relationships and characters.
