The book begins by introducing every stereotype ever used in Science Fiction. This includes the 'enemy' being giant cockroach type beings. The story is 'ragged'. Instead of a smooth story line, you feel like you are being jerked from one episode to another. Amateurish.
This is the first book I have read in this series. Although there were some references to events that occurred in other books, I felt that this book stood pretty well on its own.
