This story is about a twelve year old girl named Margaret Simon who moves from her hometown, New York and from her grandmother to Farbrook, New Jersey.
When Margaret arrives at the destination, she encounters everyday typical pre-teen issues such as her puberty stage, boys, religion , school and other regular things with her new best friend, Nancy and the all-girls club she joins.

Judy Blume was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey on February 12, 1938. She received a bachelor's degree in education from New York University in 1961. Her first book, The One in the Middle Is the Green Kangaroo, was published in 1969. Her other books include Are You There, God?
