Fantasy. Fiction. Romance. HTML:The sexy Young brothers may know a fang or two about the art of seduction, but their sister, Elizabeth, is positively mooning over a few issues of her own. . .Bad Moon Rising
Elizabeth Young's brothers think they have it rough as vampires? Ha! Two words for them: unwanted hair. What werewolf Elizabeth craves is a normal life with a husband, kids, and less shaving. Unfortunately the vaccine she's researched isn't working yet. Worse, she's in heat—and soon show more every dangerous wolf pack for miles around will be at her door. To buy time, she needs to have sex, and often, with the first human male she can find. . .
Veterinarian Jensen Adler just meant to drown his sorrows, until a stunning, leather-clad brunette made him an offer he couldn't refuse. Now he's caught up in something really weird, definitely dangerous, and, okay, extremely hot. So his new girlfriend's hiding something (and she's a little freaky about the moon), but Jensen knows true love when he feels it, and this time, he's not giving up. . .no matter how hairy things get. show less

I absolutely loved this fourth novel in Kathy Love's Young sibling novels. The first three novels follow Elizabeth's vampire brothers. She had thought they were dead and reunited with them in book 3. In this book, we learn how she became a werewolf and watch her romance with Jensen, a vet.
This book is filled with humor and if you're looking for a good laugh, then this is the book for you. The romance between the characters is well-developed. My one real complaint is the ending of the book. It's hard to explain without giving anything away. But, it seemed too easy and convenient. But that aside, I soaked up this story and highly recommend the entire series.

An entertaining read, this book is a smutty paranormal romance (meaning lots of graphic sex scenes). The characters are hardly introduced before they start having at it. Not a great plot line, but entertaining enough and a fun vacation read.
Elizabeth is a werewolf and her 3 brothers are vampires. Elizabeth moved to West Virginia to be near one brother, and to concentrate on her research. She is a biologist trying to make a cure for lycantropy. To her astonishment she falls for a human man, but will he run when he finds out she is a werewolf, can he handle her past?

So, that wasn't great. The kindle version is pretty poorly formatted. It's also very heavy handed. After all, us readers are far too stupid to understand that this couple feel a mysterious pull to each other if you don't have both characters say it twice within 2 pages of poorly spaced text. The heroine's traits seemed to change on a whim to whatever sounded cool at the moment. Not just between the "ladylike" human and "wild" wolf. She's also the world's worst scientist doing alleged research in a barn with a lab that sounds like a Halloween prop. Except for when she's the world's least convincing former wolf-pack/biker gang member. Not even sure why I finished this book except that sadly, I have read worse, and I guess I was bored. :/
Elizabeth Young is a werewolf and researcher, doing her best to find a cure for her condition. Jensen Adler is a veterinarian, recently returned to his home town to take over his grandfather’s practice. Elizabeth has been out of sorts lately and wonders if the new serum she developed might be the cause. She needs to get out of the house and heads for the bar owned by her sister-in-law and sees Jensen who had reluctantly agreed to go out with old friends. The two notice each other right away.
The situations are funny as she’s acting out of character with the sex (he’s not exactly pushing her away) yet she keeps trying to tell herself and him that it can’t go any further. She is a werewolf and mated to a bad guy she’d run away show more from when leaving the pack, so it would be safer for him if they didn’t see each other anymore. Well you know that’s not going to work out.
You’ve got to love Jensen’s grandfather. He tells it like it is – mostly to his grandson. The guy even leaves out condoms when he realizes Jensen is seeing someone. See a wolf? Shoot it.
Two of Elizabeth’s brothers are on hand to shake up Jensen when their sister is depressed, and to help find her when she’s kidnapped.
Humor is definitely a big part of the story along with the romance and sex. I found it to be a very enjoyable, easy read that fits in nicely with her brothers’ books. show less

“I really liked the heroine of this story -- Lizzie the werewolf. She was smart and, even though she did have issues, I didn't think she was whiny. I also liked this story because, unlike a lot of other supernatural romances I read, the heroine was supernatural not the hero. The heroine was the mystery, the "other", the slightly dangerous and sexy supernatural being. The hero was, throughout the majority of the story, just a very likable nice veternarian. Great story.
I found this novel the least convincing of the four [in Kathy Love's Young series]. How can the protagonist be so sure that her feelings are true and not the result of being in heat? How can Jensen be so dense to his paramour's true nature and how can he be so nonchalant about it once he does realize the truth? (more)
Honestly, I picked it up because of the title. I thought it would be similiar to a MaryJanice Davidson book -- funny, quirky, sarcastic characters. Instead, not so much. This read like a formula romance that just happens to have werewolves and vampires.
As well, the main character's timeline didn't make sense, point A and B seemed very far apart. However, I read this book before any others in the series, so I might be missing something.
I give it a "meh." I would read other books by this author, but most likely as loaners rather than purchases.
