Description

Imaginations will soar from the forest floor, up through the canopy and back down again, following the circle of life in this clever adaptation of the song "The Green Grass Grew All Around." The jungle comes alive as children learn about a wide variety of the animals (jaguars, emerald tree boas, leafcutter ants, sloths, poison dart frogs, toucans, and bats) and plants (kapok trees, liana vines, and bromeliads) living in the lush Amazon rainforest. Delve even deeper into the jungle using show more sidebars and the three-page "For Creative Minds" educational section. show less

summary: This book teaches kids about the types of things that you'd find in the rainforest. It is also a song!
reflection: This book was fun to read because it rhymed and was repetitive. I think that repetitive books are fun to read because it keeps me entertained. I think this is a great informative book for children to learn about the rainforest.
I enjoyed this book. I liked this book because of the beautiful illustrations. The illustrations really expanded the text and gave a great visual for what these animals and plants looked like. The illustrations gave the text a real life feel. I also liked this book because of the way the author presented the content. The author set up the content in a pattern. The made the material easy and fun to read. It was a mix up from reading straight forward information. It was also fun to read the author's fun facts listed on the side of each page. The big message of this idea was to inform readers about the animals and plants that are key to the rainforest ecosystem.
This is a great informational text for elementary students to read! I liked this book because of the detailed illustrations. The illustrations show exactly what is being talked about in the text which is good for students to be able to have a visual reference to the words that they are reading. The writing is very organized into a pattern-like form. This allows students to pick up and retain more information. The overall message of this book is to teach children about the rain forest and the different aspects that make up a rain forest. Such as, who lives in the rain forest. It's not just about the plants.
This interactive and fun book educates children on the rainforest and all of the cool animals and bugs that live there. Children get to interact with the book by searching for certain animals that each page tells them to.
K-Grade 4. This story is about the rainforest and it's many different elements such as the plants that grow there and the animals that live there. Great when introducing students to different climates.
