Lucy and JJ are the kind of characters you want to grab coffee with. They’re messy in relatable ways, they know it, and they’re actively trying to grow—not for perfection, but for themselves and the people they love. Lucy brings the sass, sarcasm, and “I refuse to be show more impressed” energy, while JJ is basically a golden retriever in human form: calm, warm, and annoyingly adorable. Together? Chef’s kiss. 💋✨
And shoutout to Lexi for weaving in Hockey, Mental Health, LGBTQ+, and BIPOC representation so effortlessly. Nothing feels like a checkbox—it’s all genuine, thoughtful, and perfectly blended into the story.
I came for the hockey and the A+ banter…
But I stayed because I fell hopelessly in love with these characters right along with them. ❤️🏒 show less

This is a fun debut from Lexi LaFluer Brown.
I loved that the characters Lucy and Jaylen seem 3 dimensinal and we see their struggles and their growth. It's still a romance so doesn't get too heavy but it's good to see characters actually getting help/therapy and not just magically resolving their problems for the happily ever after.
I hope we get more in this world. I'd love Cooper's story

Could definitely tell this was a first book. Fluffy and cute, but underdeveloped characters and very surface level.
This was a good story. If you like hockey romances, then you’ll enjoy it. I do love a good hockey romance, however, I had a hard time rooting for our main characters. They were just ok in my opinion. To me, they were both just a bit too wedged into their personalities. It wasn’t that they were horrible people, but they weren’t entirely likable either.
The audiobook narrators tried to give the characters a bit more life, and succeeded to a point, however, it didn’t quite work.
