Description
In his continuing quest to earn college recommendation letters from the gods, Percy has to pet sit the goddess Hecate's polecat and giant mastiff during Halloween week. What could go wrong? Rick Riordan's newest Percy Jackson adventure is full of hilarious set pieces, a diverse cast of gods and monsters, and many other delightful tricks and treats. Percy Jackson, now a high school senior, needs three recommendation letters from the Greek gods in order to get into New Rome University. He show more earned his first one by retrieving Ganymede's chalice. Now the goddess Hecate has offered Percy another "opportunity"—all he has to do is pet sit her polecat, Gale, and mastiff, Hecuba, over Halloween week while she is away. Piece of cake, right? Percy, Annabeth, and Grover settle into Hecate's seemingly endless mansion and start getting acquainted with the fussy, terrifying animals. The trio has been warned not to touch anything, but while Percy and Annabeth are out at school, Grover can't resist drinking a strawberry-flavored potion in the laboratory. It turns him into a giant frenzied goat, and after he rampages through the house, damaging everything in sight, and passes out, Gale and Hecuba escape. Now the friends have to find Hecate's pets and somehow restore the house, all before Hecate gets back on Saturday. It's going to take luck, demigod wiles, and some old and new friends to hunt down the animals and set things right again.. show less

I think everyone knows this, but I love Percy Jackson. The original series is my all-time favorite book series, and this latest installment does not disappoint. In order to obtain a second letter of recommendation, Percy has to pet sit Hecate’s two pets, a polecat and a giant hell hound. But when things go terribly wrong, it’s up to Percy, Annabeth, and Grover to make things right before Hecate comes back and destroys them.
What I liked: well, it’s Percy Jackson. It’s the same sarcastic, humble, heroic boy we’ve come to love. I love that the original trio is in this together, and that they’re still the same characters and same friendship dynamic, even though they’ve gone through so much. I also love the pets and their show more backstories.
What I didn’t like: not much. My only critique is that I found the action a little more lacking than the original series, but then the stakes are much less severe (not exactly Kronos taking over the world). I also would’ve like to have seen more gods intervening (that’s always fun). But, of course, none of this takes away from the fun of the story.

In the Wrath of the Triple Goddess Percy Jackson, with the help of his friends Anabelle and Grover, is still working on getting his three godly recommendation letters for his college applications.
This #7 in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series sees Percy working on rec number two, from said "triple goddess", the terrifying goddess Hecate. I would classify this installment a "Halloween-themed" one, with lots of fun moments and surprising heart. In return for the recommendation, the friends agree to house/pet sit for Hecate so she can go off and enjoy the celebrations around Halloween.

Percy needs another letter of recommendation in return for doing a favor for one of the gods. His next task: pet-sitting for Hecate. What could go wrong? (LOL, so many things.)
If you've gotten this far in the series, you'll probably enjoy this one as well. As with the previous book, the action focuses on Percy, Annabeth, and Grover, and is a return to the style of the first five books in the series.

Percy is such an empathetic character, I love it. I love how the solutions to their problems weren't all about destruction but about rebuilding. Plus, the animals were adorable. I'm looking forward to the next one!
This book, as all of the PJO books, contains wonderful humor, heartwarming moments, and the beauty of real-life and mythology colliding in the weirdest ways possible.
This book allowed me to understand the gods even more. Before, I just thought of them as annoying a prick on your side, but now I see them as horrible people. They made Percy's life so tricky without reason, even though he immensely helped them. Now, they don't want him to go to college; thats just mean.
I maintain that these books hold up for adult readers as well. After 18 of them now, I still love them.
