This was an emotional, epic, and deeply satisfying conclusion to the Nytefall trilogy. From the first page, I was hooked by the high stakes, heartbreak, and relentless tension. Watching Astraea fully step into her power while fighting to save Nyte was everything I hoped for and more. Their love felt raw, desperate, and earned through sacrifice. The dragons, gods, and looming apocalypse added breathtaking scale, yet the story never lost its emotional core. The found family moments were just as powerful as the battles. By the end, I was wrecked, in the best way. A beautiful, unforgettable finale.
The Dark is Descending wraps up the Nytefall trilogy perfectly. I really enjoyed the first two books and couldn’t wait to see how Estraea and Nyte would make it through after the way the second book ended.

By the end of book two, Nyte is trapped in a cursed sleep and Auster has turned against Estraea. Estraea destroys her key and sends them to the dragons, so now she, Nyte, and their friends have to search for the missing pieces to defeat Nyte’s father and the angry gods, Dusk and Dawn.

There was so much action that every time things seemed calm, something else happened. With all the betrayals, I never knew who to trust, which kept me interested. The love between Estraea and Nyte was wonderful, and even though the ending was perfect, show more I wish the series would go on. I didn’t expect it to end the way it did. Were there some problems with the story? Yes, but I was enjoying the story and the characters so much that it didn’t bother me.

The audiobooks of this entire series were so good, which I think made the whole series way more enjoyable to me. I highly recommend the audiobooks if you decide to read the series.
