In this book, Nancy Erickson examines what constitutes good style and good fit, finding your own style, and what basic pieces every wardrobe should contain. Then she goes on to selecting well-fitting and flattering patterns, how to choose fabric, and how to use interfacing and essential sewing tools. The last half of the book explores in-depth how to construct a soft-tailored jacket, classic pants, and different pocket styles. She includes templates for welt and patch pockets. This is an excellent overview of garment construction and style. It is written in a friendly and engaging style, and is informative without being overwhelming. Highly recommended!
