Oh sweet - too bad this kind of childlike art doesn't appeal to the modern reader. But I love the story: a little girl goes out to the woods and approaches many different animals who respectively climb a tree, jump into the pond, slither into a hole... until she sits very still and they all come and check her out, which she claims is them playing with her.
Nicely drawn pictures with a wonderful story about a little girl trying to find someone to play with her. Will you?
