Re-released book suitable for middle school. Set in Fremantle it tells the story from two different perspectives. One is Matt Tognolini or Toggo a famous Fremantle footballer who is having an off season - missing goals, injury, you name it. The other is Greg, a kid who plays footy and idolizes the great Toggo. When the two meet in a park, Toggo has just tried on a new pair of boots and starts to kick straighter than he ever has before. But when he drives away, he leaves the boots behind and Greg decides to wear them at his next footy match. Greg has a blinder and starts believing that they are "magic boots" but he sees Toggo struggling on TV and doesn't know whether or not to give them back.
