Oh, my goodness. What did I read? This was great, but it needs a sequel. I’m pretty sure a sequel is planned, but when? When, when, when?
Okay, content warnings: murder/resurrection, violence including death in battle, multiple partners, mpreg. I may be forgetting something.
This was a style of magic I was not used to, and was not explored in detail. The power dynamics among the power types and other details within the power types make this a complex political story, especially as Tobias is remembering his place in it as we, the readers, are discovering how the society functions and disfunctions. I enjoyed the book for the political intrigue, the psychological aspects, and the bewildering world. I’m hoping that future books will show more bring more of the romance into play, as there is clearly romantic interest, but there are a lot of questions unanswered. show less
