So of everything I've read in the last 2 years, this took the longest to go from added to the "library" to being reviewed. Primarily because I lost a copy and still took me several renewals to get through it all.
Usually this is a sign of poor writing, or at least loosing MY interest. I don't think that was the case with Left Hand of Destiny book 2 though.
It starts off right were book 1 ends, with Ezri Dax getting the bazarr message from Worf. There is some connection with an old story, that I'm not aware of, not sure if I missed it from the TV show, or its some old Trek Novel that gets turned in.
Hertzler's impact on this, like the last, was fantastic view of Chancellor Martok that couldn't have been got without the actor's insight. show more So much better than "A Stitch in Time" with Garrick. show less

Hier wird nun die Geschichte, die in "The Left Hand of Destiny" begonnen wurde, fortgesetzt - den ersten Band sollte man schon vorab gelesen haben.
Mittlerweile ist das Team um Martok durch Ezri Dax verstärkt, die sich zusammen mit Worf zunächst auf die Suche nach einem wichtigen Artefakt aus der klingonischen Geschichte macht. Martok dagegen geht mal wieder im Alleingang gegen seine Widersacherin vor.
Handlungsort ist in diesem Band überwiegend Boreth, einem vereisten Planeten, der für die Klingonen heilige Stätten beherbergt. Dort trifft Martok dann auch auf weitere Unterstützer, und so kann die große, finale Schlacht beginnen.
Auch in diesem Band bleiben die Autoren dem typischen Erzählmuster einer Star Trek Folge treu - mehrere show more Protagonisten, welchselnde Schauplätze, am Ende werden alle Handlungsstränge zusammengeführt und der Erzähbogen dieser "Doppelfolge" abgeschlossen.
Am Anfang hatte ich ein wenig den Faden verloren - wer ist jetzt auf welchem Raumschiff? Das war für das Verständnis der Handlung insgesamt aber später auch nicht mehr notwendig. In diesem Band wird viel gekämpft, bei der Geschichte aber auch zu erwarten.
Insgesamt eine nette Geschichte, die das Star Trek Universum wieder lebendig werden lässt. show less
