Seven strangers all recieve a note informing them they are to become very rich. With the note is a token. All they have to do is hang on to the token for dear life.
I've read all of Sharon Bolton's books and enjoyed them all except one. She is an auto read author for me and I know I'm in for a good time.
This book did take a little bit to get into purely because of all the characters. Once settled in I was quite enjoying the book and wanted to know how they were all connected, well it is a thriller after all.
When all is revealed I did find this part of the story a little flawed. How can seven people who are thrown into a situation years ago not remember each other. Then as usual the story did go into thrillerland.
However I did enjoy the show more book and I will certainly read more by the author as she is one of my favourites. show less

This started with a scene on a boat crammed with nautical detail, and then went back in time and went nowhere until nearly the end, which was underwhelming. Seven people receive tokens in the post saying they are due to inherit a share of the wealth of a very rich (and dying) man. Most of the book consists of very short chapters switching between these people and is only mildly interesting. The ending seems a bit unlikely
SPOILER
they really didn't recognize each other?
and the final twist was one I simply didn't care about.
Very disappointing.
