I was always into the Baby-Sitters Club when I was younger, but I did read a few of the Little Sister books. I definitely liked the original series better, but the Little Sister books had their own merit. Karen thinks her neighbor is a witch and comes up with all sorts of crazy 'evidence' for this. The truth is a lot more mundane than Karen expected, so it's a lesson for little kids to not let their imagination run away.
Read this with my second grader. A very cute little story about the things our imaginations can do with inadequate information and youthful fears.
I read a handful of these Little Sister books when I was younger, and in most of them Karen is a brat. At least in this book she tried to do a decent thing by loaning Nancy her doll when Nancy is sick only Nancy doesn't know/think it is a loan.
Karen's next-door neighbor is a wich! At least, that's what Karen thinks, because the neighbor is very mysterious and Karen thinks that she sees witch-y things going on. She wants to find out the truth.
Just finished this with my daughter. Great book for around Halloween!
