A girl who visits the zoo regularly offers to help out if "anything ever goes wrong at the zoo". One rainy night she and her mother are very surprised when the zookeepers show up with unexpected houseguests. A charming fable. Perfect for preschoolers and kindergarteners.
“If anything ever goes wrong at the zoo, you can send the zebras to my house,” Leslie tells the zebra keeper. She also invites the monkeys and the elephants. None of them ever comes--until one wet, stormy night when the zoo floods and the zebra keeper remembers Leslie’s offer.
summary: Every Saturday, Leslie goes to the Zoo and invites the animals to her house if anything goes wrong.
reflection: I smiled while reading this book, imagining if this were to ever happen! The zoo flooded so all of the animals were taken to Leslie's house at the top of the hill. How silly! I think students would love to be read this story, especially the ones who love animals. Who wouldn't want a zoo in their house??
Leslie goes to the zoo and asks if she could have many of the animals. She explains that she has the proper means to care for the animals she wanted. A storm comes and all of the animals came to Leslie's house to take cover. The lesson that can be taught in this book is generosity. Leslie opened her house to all the animals and was generous with her home.
This book is about a little girl who goes to the zoo every weekend. She lets the zoo keepers know that if anything every went wrong at the zoo, her house was big enough to keep the animals there. One day a big storm comes and it floods the zoo, and the zoo keepers take the animals to her house.
Sweet book and nice illustrations, almost four stars.
