Jude, a Premier League soccer player sidelined by injury, travels to Canada to visit his NHL-star brother and unexpectedly hooks up with Cody, his brother’s grumpy teammate. What begins as a one-night stand quickly turns into a magnetic, can’t-stay-away connection. I loved the grumpy/sunshine dynamic and how their chemistry jumped off the page. The mix of soccer and hockey, UK and Canadian settings, made the story feel fresh and exciting. Becca skillfully balances spice, humor, and genuine emotion, showing growth in both characters. If you enjoy forbidden romance filled with heart, heat, and plenty of tension. If you love sports romance, this one is for you.
This is one of the least believable tropes in romance: have a hook-up, then see them again. However believable it is, it’s also a fun one. Jude and Cody are a sweet couple, and they earn their HEA. There are so many tropes in this story that I couldn’t give it full rating, but I enjoyed it, and would recommend to anyone who likes sports romance.
