“Recently, I read "Captured by the Vampire Knight" by A. N. Payton. While my normal fantasy read contains witches and other magical beings, I ended up liking this story quite a bit. The author did a nice job weaving together a story of two worlds—witches and vampires—and showing how both Elara and Darian have a lot in common, even though they come from different worlds.

When Elara’s past is eventually revealed, we get a glimpse into the cause of her inner struggle—especially the truth behind her bound magic and her mother’s sacrifice. These elements makes her journey feel meaningful and the read worth the trip.

Darian’s backstory is just as compelling, We start by seeing a little snippet of memory. This whets our appetite show more and makes us eager to find out what it means. When he and Elara finally realize they want ultimately the same thing, they combine forces. Will they come out the victors or the losers?

While it didn’t become a new favorite for me, I did enjoy the story, the characters, and the way everything comes together in the climax. The ending leaves room for more, and I’m curious to see where the author takes the series next. Fans of darker paranormal romance with a slow burn dynamic will likely enjoy this one.”
