Can I rate this higher than a 6? I say this every time I read a Tal Bauer book, and every time its true. I couldn't put this book down and when I had too I was talkin non-stop about it. Tal Bauer can write. Full stop.
I felt every moment of anxiety that Torey was experiencing and it was bother terrifying and amazing. We rode the highs and the lows. I got lost in the moments just like him. I've read other stories that have a somewhat similar take on what happened and I couldn't get past the rehashing. I think that author didn't change much when the sections were being retold show more and it just felt like 'yeah yeah I've read this before, not here. We had so much more information and I honestly felt like I was rereading the book, picking up new things, interesting things.
I'm struggling to put into words how good this book is. How much it made me feel. Especially to the end. I was crying sadly at some parts and then screaming crying at others. I couldn't breathe at some points! Hell, I had to FORCE myself to put it down because I was entering the last 200 pages and I knew I needed to face it fresh.
This will probaly be my book of the year. A lot of good books have come out this year that I loved and there are a few I'm excitingly waiting on but this. God damn.

I absolutely love Tal Bauer’s writing, and this was no exception. There’s an emotional punch to this book, and a lot can be packed into over 800 pages. There was nowhere here that I felt it was tedious, and there were definitely points where I couldn’t read through my tears. So much amazingness here! And I don’t even like sports romance.
