This charming book is an easy read aloud and allows for a great discussion on how it is different than the original story, which hits the CCSS, as well as how to chose a just right book (beginning of the year library lessons). The book is bigger so the pictures are easier to see when doing a read aloud. The flow and humor is perfectly suited for wiggly K-1 classroom, and lends itself for discussion for 2-3 grade students. The pictures are engaging and this rendition of Goldilocks is great when comparing. There is even some humor for adults "the temptation was more than she could bare"
Goldie Socks and the Three Libearians is a twist of the classic Goldilocks and the Three Bears fantasy book. The classical story of Goldie Socks going into the Three Bears cottage and eating their porridge, looking through their books, breaking chairs and reading on baby bear's bed. Illustrations in this book so simple but yet eye-catching. You can see the flying books and pillows and it almost seems like it's jumping right at you. The text is simple and clear to read. This is a perfect example for Teachers to use a different version of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. This book can be used in the classroom to encourage young students to read. Also for my understanding this book has an amazing ending and is so encouraging for many young show more readers. show less
Cute adaptation of the original. I think it is a wonderful story to read about libraries. Shows mishandling of materials (which can be noted afterwards as to how not to handle books). I will be using this book if 1st graders come to visit!
Definitely educational, but also definitely cute. The pictures were a little too cartoony for me, but they were fittingly exuberant!
An enjoyable fractured fairy tale about finding just the right book.
