I had hoped this book would be more graphic novel than text, but it is not. Which is fine, I still think my kid will try it. I allowed my kid a phone at far too young an age, but I did course correct and banned YouTube Kids around 2nd grade. We initially told her no social media until 13, but recently we said maybe we should wait until she's even older because it just isn't good FOR ANYBODY. She didn't love that, so when I saw this book, I pre-ordered it. I've seen a lot of this information on Instagram, but there's something about seeing it in a book that makes it a little more real and not just SCARY INFO ABOUT THE END OF OUR SOCIETY, you know? It is a little repetitive, but I think it works for the audience because most kids probably show more won't read this in one sitting.
I haven't read The Anxious Generation because I don't need anymore anxiety in my life. show less
