I have very mixed feelings about this book. I initially thought that it was going to be great and I was quite excited to get a dose of motivation. As I started reading it however, I noticed a few things that seemed quite odd to me. The first thing that I noticed - is the way the writer asks for reviews - not just once, but a few times throughout the book. This was a small thing though compared to the main problem I had whilst reading it - the writer essentially brings up maybe three or four points in the entire book but then says the same thing (with the same types of examples) in slightly different ways throughout. Each chapter uses the same analogies...doing push-ups, writing a few lines, etc. - as I was reading, I started thinking show more that I had just read the same thing in the previous chapter, but worded slightly differently and attributed to a different concept related to "motivation". In reality, the same thing was being said - over and over again. I actually was a bit shocked and was wondering if there was a mistake and parts of previous chapters had accidently replaced future chapters etc. I wondered: Is that why the sentence structure is exactly the same throughout, with three or four main ideas told in slightly different ways? Although I'm not saying this is the case - it didn't read like it was written by a human, which I found quite confusing. In all, this book was not for me, but if it motivates someone else - then that is wonderful! show less

This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers.I won a free digital copy of this book.
I was so delighted to read it, and I plan to keep it on file to revisit these encouraging words. It states that you can be disciplined without motivation, yet I felt so inspired and motivated to trust the process, guided by wise words and advice.
I agree with the idea of stopping debates, avoiding endless negotiations, and becoming someone who finishes what they start and shows up. There's no magic, inspiration, or luck involved. Celebrate progress without overthinking and without waiting for huge victories. The best part: Repeat. "Build your life quietly, steadily, and intentionally (8: Power of Persistence)."
Jot down plenty of notes and helpful advice—all in my journals.
This is the best read of show more the new year, 2026.
