I first read this book years ago and I recently got the entire Trek Mi Q'an series. I remembered I liked this book but except for Kyra being abducted and wed by a gigantic alien warrior and carried off to his planet I couldn't remember much else of the story line. I figured I would re-read this book before moving on in the series and I am glad I did. I can't believe I forgot about some of the things that went down in this story! Pretty much everything in Tryston revolves around pleasure and this book did not lack at all in that department. Kyra gradually becomes accustomed to the ways of her new people and even though there are plenty of moments where she doesn't understand she still manages to rise to the occasion. Toss in some show more insurrectionists that want to kill Kyra and stir to add some suspense to the book. I know people won't like all the wild and crazy that this book throws at you but there are also plenty of people like me who will enjoy the crazy things that happen in this book. show less
This was one of my first real eroticas.
It's horrible. Horrible! But...strangely compelling. Would make a great WTFery read for any erotica group! It's fun and campy - like all eroticas from this time period - but if you go into this as a serious read, you will not have fun.

OK this was just sex for sex sake. Not that I'm a prude but this seemed written for men, not women. Constant, vulgar sex, massive breasts and erections and characters that did not ring true. And let me be honest that was the biggest crime in this novel, if the characters reacted to their unusual situations in a more realistic manner. If the lead male, "Zor" was sexy rather than freakishly large, I mean, his brothers, "Kil and Dax" sounded sexier.
If ... I don't know what else, I might have liked it.
Not a great buy, but it will turn you on and add to your fantasises, so it wasn't a complete bust.
I'm guessing erotica isn't my thing.

Several times in the beginning I was uncomfortable, but as it went on, I found a lot of humor. Definitely a LOT of sex. Definitely a male centric world, with magic sex slaves and were nudity, public fondling and sharing pleasures are as common as breathing.
Kyra Summers is kidnapped from Earth as Sacred Mate to Zor Q'an Tal, High King of Tryston and Emperor of Trek Mi Q'an. The galaxy that she is taken to is very erotic and barely clothed. It seems there are a plethora of enchanted slave women and bonded servants to see to the warrior's needs (blatantly), but few women born to the warrior's mates to supply the needs for women to be Sacred Mates, hence the need to look further afield. Needless to say Kyra has problems with all the slaves and servants. There is a side plot with insurrectionists and the emotional and romantic problems of Zor's 3 brothers to keep the limited plot moving. Good for an erotic story.
Well it didn't suck. Too much sex. Sex with men, women, slaves, golems, indoors, outdoors, at the opera, at wedding feasts, you name they have exhibitionist sex there. The sci fi story was interesting but thin and swamped in superfluous sex. I personally don't care to read any f/f sex scenes so I skimmed those as quick as I could. Trying to think of more to say in this review but all I can come up with is hmm...
This book was not very good. First of all, the protagonist was perfectly ordinary. I know that was probably the point; the author wanted a generic woman so that any woman could imagine herself being kidnapped and forced to be the wife of a muscular 7 foot tall alien. But the woman was so incredibly uninteresting I couldn't identify with her at all. So there's that.
Also, this was definitely a "romance novel" in that the secondary plot was weak and underdeveloped. I've seen this done well; in this book it was not done well. I felt catered to, and it really destroyed any suspension of disbelief I might have had. Also the whole lactating blue milk thing I found icky.
