I would read this book to any age below 4th grade. It's a suspenseful book where all of the animals are hiding from the wolf. It makes it seem as if they are afraid of the wolf when in reality they are planning to surprise him for his birthday. I might use this on a student's birthday or to teach the understanding of suspenseful stories in a cute and entertaining way.
The wolf is coming everyone begins to run and hide just like they had planned. Everyone gets inside the house, pull the shades down, and begin to hide. As the wolf comes in everyone yells Surprise and have cake and pizza for everyone. I love this story because in the beginning you think that the wolf is coming to eat the other animals and thats why they are hiding, but really everyone was hiding for his surprise party which was really sweet. You can see how everyone cared about him and that everyone is friends.
Age Range: K-3rd
Book is about a bunch of animals, seeing that the wolf is coming, so they all run and hide, but to the readers surprise, they planned a surprise birthday party for the wolf.
This is a great book to read to an entire class, because many of the students will be engaged especially at the ending.

This book is great for younger elementary students. This book is about animals who are all saying "wolf's coming." The reader thinks they are scared of the wolf but in the end they are having a surprise party. This is a great book for a light hearted read aloud.
Cute book. Liked the rhyming and the pictures reminded me of Ranger Rick before it went 3-D. Could guess what was coming at the end. Very enjoyable book!
This book is a cute story about the three little pigs and the wolf. It is not the traditional fairytale, it is written with lots of suspense and the illustrations make the reader think that the wolf is coming to eat the pigs. All the animals of the forest are gathered to surprise the wolf with a birthday party. This book can also be used as a comparison and contrast lesson. There are so many versions of this fairytale and this one offers a cute twist to it. Great addition to any library.
A rhyming/ poetry book about the "big, bad" wolf coming and everyone running for cover and hiding for safety. There is a twist at the ending of the book about the wolf's true nature and a twist that will surely make everyone laugh. The rhyming is fun to read and I think little one's will like the flow of the story. It's a quick story will little text but lots of detailed and colorful pictures to go with it. The book would be good to model stories for young readers or how to write a suspenseful short story without any violence involved or with a funny ending.
