Just finished reading. I did not expect this book to be as different from what I was expecting. The most memorable part for me were the stories about how each of Saul Bauchmann’s houses had his initials written in the concrete and the dirty mechanic, Coleman, with his overalls stained in dirt and the old broken Pepsi machine he will not sell - they are characters you will not forget.
I enjoyed “Badon-napoti,” where we see Andrew looking out at Bloody Island under a full moon, but his father never completes a sentence. It was both sad and beautiful.
It is difficult to get through, as there are many long sentences, however it is something you can keep thinking about.
