Although the Time-Life series may look like something for children or young readers, the present 'Library of Nations' set of books is quite grown-up and serious. This volume, on Spain, covers its history in summary, and has quite a lot of material on the culture and traditions, as well as the changing politics and economy. Although dated - it was published in 1986 - this book, like others in the series, provides a detailed, if somewhat individualistic, psychological, insight into the country and its people, and is packed with great visuals.
