An age-appropriate book about anorexia. It's a bit simplistic, but this is Babysitter's Club, so what do you expect. For its time, it was a good way for a girl to learn about this subject.
I originally read this book way before my own bought with anorexia, so I was completely surprised when it turned out that that's what was wrong with Mary. Looking through the book now, it's very obvious, but of course back then I didn't know anything about eating disorders. The way Jessi and the BSC members confront Mary about it really sucks, though.... They basically research all this stuff and then confronted her about it point-blank, which is of course why she got defensive about it.
great book
