Not one of the better BSC club books, that's for sure. Yeah, a kid who's been through what Lou did is bound to have some issues but this book just went way over the top in that, and then the ending is as cliched as you'd expect. I mean yeah it's a BSC book but this one was really trite compared to other books in this series despite the subject matter.
This is a great BSC book. One of the BSC's clients takes in a foster child, Lou McNally, and she's a terror! She is rude and mean and terrorizes the animals. They even label her the "worst kid ever", until they realize that she's just sad and feels abandoned. She doesn't want to let anyone get close because she doesn't want to get hurt. I really felt bad for Lou, but the ending was very positive.
