Description

Walking in on my best friend mid-hookup isn't supposed to turn me on, but it's only sex, right? Finding intimacy is a bit discouraging with a neurological disorder that affects my legs. But Elliot gets it-gets me. He's my ride or die and always supportive. Always protective too. Not because he thinks I'm incapable, but because he cares. When I invite him to my brother's wedding, he becomes the ultimate date. And when we decide to blow off a little steam with each other, I'm trusting it won't show more ruin our friendship. Except it becomes more than jerking off after late-night study sessions . . . more than innocent touches, kisses, and sleeping in each other's arms. Falling for my best friend is scary, but Elliot checks all my boxes, the perfect score that was right in front of me all along. Contains mature themes. show less

Since it’s a 3-book series, I assumed it would be a story about another teammate or some other character who was introduced in one of the first two books. It wasn't about anything or anyone to do with any previous book. Basically, the only connection was that one of the characters had once, "sort of" played baseball with one of the team's players. What? How do you "sort of" play baseball? The book could have been set on anycollege campus or for that matter, written about any college campus in the entire solar system. I kept waiting for it, but there wasn’t any real connection to the Eastern U Pirates series show more at all.

I have read and liked some "friends-to-lovers" storylines, but this one seemed to be "off the wall", especially for these two guys. They were almost, from the start, the strangest two "friends"...much less lovers, that I had ever encountered. The first few chapters showed us just how "not good friends" they were, and not in the way that I expected. I will admit that there may/might/could have been a smidgen of attraction there. However, in the next breath, they went out of their way to tell us hownot romantically attracted they are... and how the "one time" that they kissed it felt so wrong that they both started laughing. So, I was hoping that another character would be introduced, or even a third one, one that kissing wouldn't have been so laughable...but nope...we're stuck with these two idiots. The idea we are given is that they just randomly "get together"... but at that point I didn't really care about either of them because they were obviously just a couple of random college students that were "experimenting" like this was their science project.

One is vaguely a nerd, and one is vaguely a jock, I think, but that’s not even really explored. Basically, their attraction is that one guy has a disability and low-self-esteem, and the other guy stands up for him and tells him how great he is. Then they fall in love.??? This did not even remotely fit into the "Easton U Pirates" series at all. Maybe little green aliens wrote this one because I can't believe this was written by this author whose books I have read and bought before.

I had no memory of this 3-hour novella read a few nights ago, so flicked through it again - yes, I'd heard all this before but it left no impression. I wonder why? since I usually enjoy Christina Lee

Strange to say, I think it was due to Kale Williams. I wonder why? because he's a regular narrator and I can't recall that I've complained before. Iggy Toma saves what there is to save of this.

Morgan and Elliot are best friends until the day they notice each other.

I fear it might be me - jaded!
