Religion - Judaism, Passover, Haggadah
  PendleHillLibrary | Nov 5, 2023 |
This book the revised edition of a Haggadah "prepared by the Central Conference of American Rabbis" according to the cover and edited by Herbert Bronstein with drawings by Leonard Basking according to the title page. I can't find an iSBN or Viking Press in my copy, but doing a quick Google search of the number shown in the book details, this book is NOT the same as the Passover Haggadah done by Elie Wiesel and Mark Podwal.

It is interesting to compare this with the earlier Union Haggadah from 1923 and see what has been restored. Although English is the primary language, this edition is paginated from right to left with no transliterations. Musical scores can be found at the back of the book. At the beginning, there is a historical introduction and a section on preparing for the seder as well as a note by Anthony Hecht. My copy was from the tenth printing in 1984; there is a note explaining that the pagination is the same as the original version since the book is meant to be used at a seder.

copyright 1974. Large coffee table size this translation of the ancient text proposes to blend old and new. The illustrations are as watercolor drawings and some are very primitive. ( )
