Matt and Allisande are confronted by the Merovance equivalent of the Mongol hordes, only in this universe, it's the central asian hordes in the service of Ahriman, Lord of Lies. To ensure that the horde faces the western nations one at a time, Ahriman's servants have kidnapped Matt's two children as well as the children of the Djinna Lahkshmi.
It's interesting to speculate on various religious figures and how they might work together in a world in which magic works. As usual, the rhyming spells can be difficult to read, but it's a quick, fun book. show less
