'Call after Midnight' was Tess Gerritsen first published novel. It's an enjoyable thriller which has the same breathless pacing as later books but without the graphic descriptions of crime scenes and autopsies. And a greater emphasis on romance and suspense.
I enjoyed this but it was not the fast pace I associate with the author. It was definitely a more "relationship" based story and less adventure/intrigue
Heerlijke romantische thriller, waarbij nadenken niet noodzakelijk is. Precies wat ik nodig had.
I didn't find a cover to match the hardback copy of the version I just finished---this is one of the paperback covers. As usual Gerritsen writes about the puzzle surrounding a super human man and woman accomplishing only-in-a-novel feats as they search for answers. What's not to love about that when you're reading a novel full of twists and turns? I'm catching up with Gerritsen's earlier novels.
Sarah Fontaine is woken up by a ringing phone in the night which is never a good thing. She is informed that her husband has been killed in Berlin. What was he doing in Berlin when he was supposed to be in London? Sarah and Nick O'Hara from the State Sept start on a journey to see if they can find out the truth.
Vlot leesbare, romantische thriller. Wat voorspelbaar, maar toch heel leuk om te lezen.
